Triumph

Triumph

Like Adler, Triumph started out by making bicycles, and expanded into miscellaneous items such as cigarette rollers and elevators. Like Adler, Triumph also produced cars, typewriters, and motorcycles, but resolved to stick with bicycles, typewriters, and cars in 1907, bringing back motorcycles only in 1945, a depression and two world wars later. Typewriter production started in 1909 when Triumph purchased Carl Friedrich Kührt’s Norica typewriter company in Nuremberg, Germany. Interesting fact, in 1928, the company sent their model 10 to the Vatican, and the Pope ended up giving it his personal endorsement. Check out an article in ETCetera by Keith McBride, issue number 91 at https://etconline.org/backissues/ETC091.pdf for some more history on this brand.
